ALL WEATHER TYRES: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

In the Netherlands, approximately 1.5 million drivers change from summer tyres to winter tyres or vice versa every year. Despite the many advantages of winter tyres, these are relatively few compared to the total number of cars registered in our country. But a set of summer tyres and winter tyres does of course require a considerable investment. Fortunately, there is an alternative: the all-weather tyre!

ALL WEATHER TYRES FROM VREDESTEIN

All weather tyres combine the properties of summer tyres and winter tyres and are specifically designed to perform optimally under the most diverse weather conditions. They offer more grip in winter than summer tyres and more grip in summer than winter tyres. This makes all-weather tyres ideal in areas with changeable weather, without prolonged periods of extreme cold or very high temperatures. As in the Netherlands.

With all-weather tyres you never have to change tyres and you are assured of the right footwear in all (unexpected) weather conditions. Vredestein - named 'All weather manufacturer of the year 2019' by the renowned German medium Auto Bild - supplies three types of all weather tyres with a choice of 197 different sizes: the Comtrac 2 All Season, Quatrac 5 and Quatrac Pro.

ALL WEATHER TYRE TEST

Vredestein has been producing all-weather tyres since 1993 and has acquired a great deal of knowledge and experience over the years. That expertise now pays off with the high-quality all-weather tyres that structurally end up in the top in independent tyre tests . For example, the all-weather tyres from Vredestein perform almost as well in the snow as winter tyres, while on dry roads they guarantee dynamic handling and sometimes even outperform summer tyres on wet roads. In the most recent test by Auto Bild, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro finished first or second in various test items, good for a second place overall!

ALL WEATHER TYRES WITH SNOWFLAKE SYMBOL

The Vredestein all-weather tyre can be recognized by the letters 'M + S' on the side of the tyre, as well as the 3 PMSF symbol with a stylized mountain and snowflake, also known as the 'Three Peak Snowflake'. This snowflake symbol means that the all-weather tyre is officially certified as a winter tyre and is therefore suitable for areas outside the Netherlands where a winter tyre obligation applies.

TYRE PRESSURE ALL WEATHER TYRES

Correct tyre pressure is very important for the safety, comfort, and life of the tyre. A tyre can only perform optimally if it can provide sufficient stability and load-bearing capacity. For this, the tyre pressure must be correct. Too low a tyre pressure immediately results in less stability, more wear, and a higher fuel consumption. If the tyre pressure is far too low, the tyre can even overheat and be irreparably damaged.

Tyre pressure should preferably be checked every two weeks. For the correct tyre pressure of all-weather tyres, you must consult the specified values of the car make and model. Keep in mind that the pressure for the front and rear tyres may differ.

‘’ Tip: check the tyre pressure while the tyres are still cold. When the tyres are warm, the tyre pressure is about 0.3 bar higher. ‘’
